Definition: Abnormally lax eyelid associated with tissue relaxation, predominantly in the horizontal plane. It can be demonstrated by the horizontal eyelid distraction test (e.g. by pulling the eyelid medially and laterally). Medial and/or lateral canthal tendon laxity are often present.
